Sorry. Just saw that post and hadn't read further. Now see I'm not the only one who hates the way society treats those in need. 

The sleeping in industrial size bins is a regular habit by some, it is thought to have lead to the death of soldier late night clubbing, his body was never found, the bins themselves are generally not lockable, and are, like CRT waste facilities, unlocked

Would have been a godsend for me back in the day... I slept in phone boxes, public loos, park and bus shelters as well as the usual abandoned hut or country cottage, and, memorably, under the bandstand during a folk festival somewhere. Warmth and a roof for the night... dossers don't know they're born these days.
