Somebody must know, because they all seem to have individual social workers now ...

To help them cope with their alcohol dependence?

I wonder how many Crested Newts there are in the UK

The newts are all wondering too, they all want to find a mate and reproduce. But whenever they go looking for one, there's a building project in the way. Or when they do find the newt of their dreams, they get abducted by someone who wants to stop a building project. But that scenario could end well; they might get a dream home provided for them?... "Ooh look, there's a breeding pair! We really must look after them."

Aren't they all "Great Crested Newts"? If so, my hypothetical lonely newt won't be fussy; any Crested Newt of the required sex will be Great.

Great video and great dog! Looks like its come on a bit since I last walked down there a couple of years ago. I think quite a lot of vegetation has been cleared from the canal bed since then.

I suppose the Coronavirus epidemic has led to the lengthy delay for restoration and the work seems a long way still from bridge 88 at Pant and even longer from Llanymynech.

Delays have been made through ecological grounds and I still am sceptical about the benefits, which seems to driven by the ecologists agenda and of course generate profits for the ecologist, botanist, mycologist and zoologist.
