Hi, we live on our NB and are trying to get insurance for a camper van,  we only have a C/O address and a car registered at this address, this seems to cause a negative response, has anyone had problems with trying to get vehicle insurance with a C/O address. Cheers in anticipation.?

Adrian Flux specialise in unusual and difficult cases but can be a bit pricey. Not sure if they will be able to help with this but worth a try if you haven't already. When I moved onto my boat I kept my motorhome registered at a friend's house and told the insurance company it was parked on the road on the other side of the city. They didn't question this at all but I'm effectively still registered as living there rather than a c/o address.

And if you did have to make a claim, they would probably refuse to pay out on it.

Something often stated on here and I don't necessarily disagree, but is there actually any evidence or personal experience of this? Particularly in regard to 3rd party claims?

My gut feeling is they probably wouldn't bother to invest the time and effort needed to investigate. I can understand for drunk driving etc,  and claims for your own vehicle, but suspect for 3rd party only claims, with no obviously suspicious circumstances they would just pay out.

As in fact they do for nearly all 3rd party claims, even if alcohol or drugs were involved, and I can't imagine they'd have much success trying to recover losses from the driver. In regards to a claim for damage to your own vehicle or property, that's entirely different, and yes I agree, they would try to look for excuses not to pay out!
