Something Rather Special? Steve Priest (Brinklow) "Middle Northwich" Remake

Whilst looking at something else, I found this....

https://www.newandusedboat.co.uk/system/filestore/usedboats_particulars/Particulars_1166.pdf

Whilst I don't know this boat in any great detail, I have seen it, and know that it is visually an excellent lookalike to a "Middle Northwich" boat.

It even has a genuinely hot riveted engine room and back cabin, apparently - an unusual feature even in these top end boats

[tongue in cheek] Just a shame it only has a Gardner, not a real narrow boat engine [/tongue_in_cheek]

On the face of it the asking price looks very reasonable compared to run of the mill Hudsons or even RW Davis Northwich Traders.  This is a very much more individual boat, and such things are only rarely available.  I can't see it being on the market long.

If I were after a working boat copy, I'd be booking a viewing, (not alerting everybodty to its availability!).

It has been on the market for quite a few months though so it seems nobody wants to pay the current asking price.

Really?  Genuinely surprised!

It must be the Gardner putting them off, I guess!

Looked at it 3 weeks ago.

its lovely if thats your thing. Built off the plans, superb cabin.

however too perfect and sterile in my humble opinion.

Have looked at many remakes and replica’s its certainly one of best , but.....

You could always attack the counter heavily with a sledge hammer for greater authenticity!...

The YouTube video was posted on the 16th Feb.

Yes, sorry.

I was not trying to suggest I doubted you - sorry if it came across that way.

Given the prices being asked for some alleged "top end" boats, I'm failing to see why this one would hang about, but as I say, I don't know the boat in any detail, so maybe I'm missing something.

why heat water with the engine and not store it?

also, kneading dough after an oil change really gets your hands clean

eta: but mini niggles aside, it really is a lovely boat - and as said, not expensive for what it is

The bread tastes a bit weird though. Some years ago I went trekking in the Himalaya. The only person who had really clean hands after a few days was the cook, who kneaded the chapatis!

Which reminds me of the best joke of all time....

Q: Why did the baker's hand smell so terrible?

A: Because he needed a poo...

Dough! I knew you would rise to the occasion. At yeast there were no fish jokes.

I knew I'd get a rise from you! But isn't that a fish pun too?
