Canalside homes appear to specialise in buildings with no road access!

Gibraltar, Staffordshire – Canalside Homes

It was for sale last year, don’t believe it sold. There’s sort of parking then  a long way to walk to get to the house and the well used footpath goes right under the top patio just beneath the house. It has lovely views. Getting anything hefty to the house other than by boat wouldn’t be enjoyable.

Oh and the price has gone up by around £100,000  since last year🤣

I don't think this one includes the moorings, www.jamesdupavey.co.uk/property/old-chester-road-barbridge-cheshire/

The map in the ad points to the Barbridge Inn. This property is on the other side of the road, further down. It is recently built and is visible on Google Maps vertical view (no. 4) but streetview just shows a high hedge.

The canal at the back of that house and its neighbours is on an embankment (steps up in the photograph), with continuous moorings, so I suspect that all belongs to CRT.

The ad includes this note:

"Please note at the rear of the property, the decking and beyond has been used and benefitted by the vendors for some years but does not form part of the legal title."

So the best you could hope for would be to rent a mooring from CRT.

There is nothing on the moorings to say who owns or operates them, I wouldn't have thought CRT would miss the opportunity to put a blue board up

Maybe CRT have let the whole length to someone else who sublets the moorings.

I know it well as it’s on my regular walking route from our mooring.  It’s a great location. The asking price isn’t too bad compared with other properties in the area.
