Bank holiday Weekend, lots of boats out.

We have had a noise problem today....

 

Can anyone guess what it is?

We havnt actually left the mooring, heading off tommorow as the boating season draws to a close.

Nobody is close yet. 

Our music and smoke hasnt put the source of the noise off yet.

Nope. 

The boat opposite, pretend butty Chip, moored up at 1pm with nappy pins almost level with the front and back.

All afternoon chap has been coming out to stare at boats passing, when the clink happens and the boat tilts. No boats have been speeding, but every 10 minutes..

wind dropped about 7pm and they went pub, a quiet hour, and then boats came past again..  

Squeak. . Yep 

 

we've turned our music off as the Weedon Weekender is in full force, it might be a mile away but we can hear it well.

Depends where you are. After several days of 'days per moving boat passed' (rather than he other way round) we have today seen quite a few - almost all just a few miles from their hire base. Even so, the traffic level would be considered very quiet on, say, the southern Oxford. We even have had better scenery. On the other hand, the towpath has been delightfully busy - alas we have not seen a punch up between walkers and riders to entertain us. Nearly one between slower and faster riders! However, our waving arms/hands have become jut a little exhausted . . .

Came to light the BBQ at lunchtime to find these magnificent beasts at it.

 

Anyhow, from 8am this morning we had the squeak, scrunch, squeak as the couple moved around their boat, running the engine , sitting on the front deck, and moving about the back. Every boat passing creates the Squeak, squeak, screech, squeak, clunk. Why they didnt notice  or do something about it Lord only knows.

They then had the cheek to bring a bag of rubbish round and stick it in the bins without asking, and then told their friends to park at the wharf to come for a cruise!!
