Just Heaven
Apparently the current 4 week run of TV adverts is costing £500k. Is that a good use of their funds? Steve

Without achieving several KPI's (of which public awareness is one) the funding is not granted.

This ^^^^ In my opinion the inland waterways system needs every bit of help it can get if it is to survive in its current form.
Heartland
Has the adverts been on recently?. I do not recall seeing any after the emergency at Whalley Bridge. Another thought is was the advertising campaign a success or was it a negative result. I heard of one comment going around that Mr Parry should have used the "Force" instead of calling in the RAF. It is remarkable what people think up!

It is remarkable what people think up! Ihave seen the advert at least twice since the emergency at Whalley Bridge. I wondered if they had paid inadvance for a number of showings and couldn't cancel it at short notice. It struck me at the time that it was very bad timing! The sad thing is, most of the general public will not relate the advert to what's gone on in Whaley Bridge.

It would be sad if the 'Public' actually related that the Reservoir and C&RT were linked and they would then have a true impression of the state of infrastructure and the poor management standards, who on national TV say - "we have plenty of money for maintenance" but don't seem to have any motivation to actually do any maintenance. Heartland
I believe the press coverage for Whalley Bridge has frequently identified the CRT as owner of the dam, so the general public have been informed, but whether there is care, or concern, depends on the interest, I suppose. It might be relevant to those who live close to another dam. Edited August 9, 2019 by Heartland
