Ex working boats came to find new uses after the second world war. The Ruby was retrieved from a basin at Oldbury in the early 1950's and acquired by the Federation of Boys Clubs in Birmingham. It was reconstructed with the hold covered by a wood cabin and renamed the NORMAN CHAMBERLAIN.

 

Viv Bird, the newspapers reporter talks about  this craft in his book by Lock & Pound, but what happened to the NORMAN CHAMBERLAIN?
