Ah that old chestnut. A  rant about how it ought to be, not acceptance of how it is.

Sadly for you I think it will take a generation for your wish to be forgotten on the net to come true.

Data, and our presence online is a topic, which is changing.

People less informed as yourself, may take a while to get up to speed with it.

Trouble is, you can delete as much as you want but if anyone else has quoted you, it's there for ever. And in the various bits of the web that index old sites and info. The thing that has changed because of all this is a trade-off of data and free use against privacy. Nothing really ever comes free, it just gets paid for in ways you don't see.

Even as I write, Mr D Hutch is preparing to flood my inbox with trombone-related porn... You know it's true, however much he will deny it...

I can't say I really remember him - I don't mean that in an unkind way I just don't remember many of his posts.

I havnt a clue how many posts either. Its a joke realy, people go onto theeeee most public, most easily hacked into medium known as tinternet and worry about their supposed " privacy " and " Data " protection, a complete joke. Its like complaining about whats on telly when you have the off button to press. Once you have been ont internet, especialy farcebook, or instacrap and the suchlike you have given up your privacy for life, simples. Just stop logging on to the bloomin forum if you dont want to take part, it realy is that simple.

Well yes and no - you can pretty much apply that logic to a forum like this but it can get a whole lot more complicated when you start talking about facebook and google and other big firms like them, and of course they are American companies and America being America their anti-trust laws are about as much good as a chocolate tea pot.
