Just asking but why did you want to know?

Back in the 1990s I considered fitting the KD 36 but opted for a BMC 1.8.

Around the same time a friend bought a boat fitted with a KD26. Absollutly fine until he found himself needing spare parts. By then the importer had ceased trading. I remember driving 150 miles to some modified BMC push rods. They got him out of trouble but sourcing core parts became increasingly difficult. I don't know the present position.

My KD36 was extremely reliable. Sold it for £100 last year on ebay to a college who will be using it for training mechanics, which seems a shame as it was a really good engine. But nobody else on here or on ebay wanted it. 

 

And being three cylinder and much slower revving, sounded a whole lot nicer than a BMC.
