Welder/fabricator in Suffolk wanted

Featured Posts

I'm refitting my nb on a farmyard in deepest Suffolk and need some welding/fabrication done on site (new side hatches is the main one). Ideally I'd like to find someone with canal boat experience to do the work though obviously we are a bit out on a limb. Anyone got any suggestions?

It may not be relevant - but a good blacksmith may be adequate. My local smith fixed my gooseneck after I had collided with a tree, fabricated a chimney out of 1/4" or mebe 3/8" pipe some years ago and did an excellent job. He knows 'nothing' about boats, just has an eye for what needs to be done.

If it's major structural work - then you need Mr. Kedian's experience. If it's cutting holes  for windows / hatches then a good all round smith may be your best bet.

FWIW my local does a neat line in the most elaborate "estate" gates with incredible detailing.

I'm suggesting you think sideways a tad and find a resource that's used to working to fine tolerances, rather than some specific device experiences?
