CRT at Gardner's World

Featured Posts

The CRT had a garden feature at the NEC for Gardner's World (Thursday 13th- Sunday 16th June). This event was well attended and provided the volunteers to promote the waterways.  The fund raising section of CRT had a stand in Hall 20. The volunteers included people from Curdworth Locks, Hatton Locks and Fradley. The CRT must take credit for the number of staff that came to this event and the way the feature, in Middle Earth, was put together. It was a recreation of a canal length and tunnel portal.

If only it was Gardners' world!

I did see the feature on the TV Gardeners' World, which showed the designer building the set, with tunnel, canal and tunnel-keeper's cottage.  Very well done with a lot of attention to detail, e.g. putting bits of plants into the brickwork to give to an aged appearance.
