Best to label the switch so that future users aren't confused. Ideally write a simple process as well explaining the need to ensure the N-E link is switched out before connecting the shore line to the boat.

Never mind future users. When I wire something up, I can't remember how it is supposed to work a few months later!

People sometimes compliment me on how comprehensively I document stuff. There is a reason for this...
