Missing Mile of Stroudwater Canal to be Restored

The Cotswold Canal Trust are to reinstate the missing mile.

Splendid news - as someone who works in the restoration field and has been involved I'm still pinching myself that Highways England are paying!

Excellent news.

I still look in astonishment at the un-watered brand new aqueduct straddling the M6 Toll near Lichfield.

Forward thinking by one government department about another department's area is encouraging and gives me hope.

Yes it's very sad that progress is so slow and the aqueduct is local to me.

 

I am beginning to wonder if I will ever get to cruise the Litchfield and Hatherton canals. ?
