Huddersfield Board Canal Depth

I am thinking of doing a detour to Huddersfield on my way to Hebden Bridge. CaRT quote the maximum depth as 2'6" which seems a bit low for a broad northen canal and certainly much less than the original design specs.. Anyone taken a 3' draught boat up there recently?

No definite answer for you as my boat is only 2' draft. I noticed the Dewsbury arm was very very shallow, from the effect of the bottom on steering, speed etc, especially coming off the Calder & Hebble main line. Didn't find this on the Huddersfield Broad, so if you can get to Dewsbury, you should have no problems with Huddersfield.
