Yes, very good news, I’ve just read the article too, and came here to see if anyone had already posted it!

I think that it is somewhere near Stroud that there are some reinstated lift bridges made from recycled plastic or rubber?

Stillearning,  The bridge in question is Bonds Mill Bridge, near Stonehouse. It was reconstructed as an experiment in the 1980's, but did not work well and was again rebuilt with steel deck later.

Thank you, it must have been in the early 90s that I saw it, while on a business trip to the (I think) local Civic Trust offices.
