The flying saucer is about 15cm in diameter,and the steel cord attached to the rod and saucer is about a metre long,found it in a lock a few years ago. PeterF Posted April 28, 2019 Report Share Posted April 28, 2019 Looks like a float for level measurement, I have seen one lock with bottom guillotine gates that has a float in to make sure the water level is low before raising the gate at Todmorden.
