You need Ray Bowern. Best by far, always gets in touch with you and talks straight John Bull. He is vgvfm in every instance. 07860 729522.

I used Ray 3 years ago. Cost me just over £3k from Evesham to Billing and that was the cheapest quote I found. (57 x 12ft boat). He's a broker so it's not actually him doing the job but he's sound.

You might as well call Tuckeys, they do most of Ray Bowerns craning work and a lot of his lorry work too.

Yes but Ray Bowen will give you a much cheaper quote than going direct. Tuckeys wanted over £5k from me but give them a call and check for yourself.

Can anyone tell me if they have transferred by road a widebeam from North to the south east of England, who they used, when and how much did it cost?

But why? The North is the land of big waterways where widebeams are best suited to live

However if you have to live down there listen to the wise advice and call Ray, as Tuckeys are expensive [I listened to a conversation between Johnny and them which involved norty words and double the next best quote]

I’m not sure you’re right there - A S Taylor do a lot of it with a couple of pretty much dedicated specialist trucks. Likewise he uses craning companies all over.

I have heard it the other way round so it's probably swings and roundabouts.

Hiding in the pub. He's still on 9999 despite Tumshie's efforts to entice him out.

I believe he's on a 3001 space odyssey........ The Final One..... duh duh daaaaaah.......

Or he might be back the day after tomorrow. But if you'll excuse me I have a new pressure washer to go play with. :D

Please don't, we have too many of them on our small canals here already!

(A half-serious point...)

Southeast, she might mean the river Lea or Stort.   Don't get Tucked up use Ray Bowerne. We've used him lots, always been reliable. The main wagons that Ray books are wagons from haulage companies that are due to travel distances empty to pick up their loads and they hate having to dothat,''total loss''  running long distances empty with no payload. My last boat delivery was from Northwich to Spelbrook B.Stortford and the flatbed Artic without my job would almost certainly have had to travel all the way to Felixtow empty. For that's where it was on its way to to pick up containers for the north of England, hence Ray Bowerne tends to be cheaper. The cranes are ordered by him from crane hire companies close to the place of delivery or pick up.
