Planning the last week in June & first week in July to visit the Llangollen Eisteddfod setting off from Audlem, advice please if you have moored online or in the basin. I am aware its 48 hours maximum, are moorings available or is it very busy in Llangollen, The festival is on July 1st for a week.

Plenty of mooring in Llangollen, they include an individual water point and electricity supply but you have to pay for them in the horse drawn trip boat building. (£6 per 24 hours in 2015).

Some are online and some in the marina  which is also where you wind to return (beware short pontoons if you have a boat longer than about 50 foot, you may need to use the centre line to tie up securely). The online moorings are the more popular. If it is busy take the first one then walk to see if there is a better one free closer to the town.

Best to arrive at weekends during the peak season as it is less busy then because the hire boats will still be closer to their bases, rather than at Llangollen.
