Air in the fuel lines?

If so check for the fuel system for air leaks and bleed the injectors.

Glass? Is that BSS compliant?

No it isn't but you knew that didn't you?

It is also a good example of one of those stupid BSS rules that can safely be ignored in my opinion.

(As opposed to most of them which are sensible and good.)

Not according to this:

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=PDI8DwAAQBAJ&pg=PP39&lpg=PP39&dq=bss+compliant+glass+bowl&source=bl&ots=YvENwi8hiY&sig=ACfU3U33Jv40sLj7oW3jHxN-7cAZJLiY6w&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiRgOPp7f7hAhWjRxUIHTsOBIQQ6AEwDXoECAgQAQ#v=onepage&q=bss compliant glass bowl&f=false

That says glass is OK

MORE: They are OK for non-private boats according to the BSS:

I don't think they are mentioned in the private boat scheme

So did I!

So either examiners are making rules up again, or the rules have changed recently.

Perhaps its another debacle like the all metal spill rails we had to fit, now they allow bits of rubber hose.

Changing a glass sedimenter bowl is a very sensible move.........Ive seen the things break just from being tightened to stop a leak, and broke one myself with just a touch of a spanner.............The catch is the ally bowl is very expensive.............good reason to change to spin ons.
