Apparently, they made it to the bottom of Buckby and were then all whisked off to a hotel in Daventry for the evening whilst the crews took the boats up the lock.

Wednesday, lots of filming up near Norton Junction and top lock, then the crews took the boats down to Braunston for some more filming. (you didnt think the celebs actually get their hands dirty did you....)

I think the term “celebs” is being used in the loosest sense here......

....and today they were turning up at the bottom of the Claydon locks and down into Cropredy. The two Black Prince boats were coming down the Claydon locks as we went up this morning, escorted by by half a dozen CRT volockies. Judging by the look of the inside of the boats, the 'celebs' are not staying on them.

Guess someone got wet today.

You must be somewhere close then since we also passed Pete Waterman coming up the Claydon Flight this morning. We left the bottom lock gates open for him. For us the rain didn't hit until about 2pm so they might (possibly) have got to Banbury before the rain. I'm not sure that the building site that is Banbury would be a good filmed sequence.

Moored up just past Clayton top lock.

May see you tomorrow?

We're out in the 'wilds' beyond Fenny Compton at the moment, hope to get to Napton tomorrow, may see you if you come this far (the bridge obstruction at Fenny is off over the weekend I believe).

We'll probably stop at Wormleighton tomorrow and Napton on Sunday/ Monday so catch you next time.

What is the obstruction in Fenny? We saw all the signs when coming down but there was no activity. Any hold ups?

We got held up for about 20 minutes because the work barge was blocking the bridge hole where they are repairing the towpath. Apparently they move their barge for 15 minutes every hour, on the hour to let boaters through, so the longest wait you'd have got would have been 45 minutes. I don't think they work over the weekend though.

Wormleighton is pretty much where we are, cracking mooring isn't it??

Watched the Tim & Pru one on catchup. Very poignant. I hope they can keep on boating for a while longer.

Noticed that their own boat is unscratched and dent free despite being 30 years old.

Proves to me that Tim's frequent collisions are at the directors request. ?

(After all how can you boat for 30 plus years and not know how to steer?).

Just for the record (and to be boring to boot) the Bill Oddie/Pete Waterman/Jenni Bond/Anne Diamond production goes under the title of "Barging Britain – then and now" and appears to be to the inland waterways what Michael Portillo is to the railways. In other words, a wee bit more up market and sensible that Celebrity 5. However, the finished article remains to be seen ...........
