Countersinking brass - what drill bit?

Featured Posts

This does the job. £10.00 for one bit seems steep but you get what you pay for. I used it to countersink holes in brass for the slide runners. It also works well on steel.

The trick is to use it at slow speed which allows the cutting edge to cut rather than hop.

Not so long ago, I was choosing a drill for a hard surface. And since I am a novice, I have many questions and difficulties. I received a lot of advice from friends but have not yet decided on the choice. My search led me to сountersink bit sets IRWIN Tools 1877793  https://drilling-it.com/best-countersink-bit-sets-reviews/ share my little experiences, maybe this information is useful to you.

Sadly the Irwin bits don’t appear to be available in the UK. Several US sellers on eBay but the postage costs are high.

Interesting to note from your link that countersink bits are 82 degrees, not 90 as I previously imagined.
