Parkrun

Well I have become a little bit keen on the idea of getting to a parkrun on a Saturday morning within walking distance of a canal mooring.

I have been investigating with the help of my friend google but wondered if the combined wisdom of this forum could help?

In Reading there is a parkrun on the river side (Thames) which would not be a long walk from the Kennet and Avon canal.

I also recently did Rushmere parkrun, which is a 30 minute walk from bridge 110 on the Grand Union

Anyone able to point me to others?

Travelling from Rugby, via middlewich branch to Worcester and then Leamington Spa on the way 'home' but interested to know of any near enough to any water course

thank you

Angela

Hanley Park, Stoke on Trent. You can moor in the middle of the course. How cool is that. (Cauldon canal)

Pennington flash (Bridgewater canal)

Marple (quite hard) (Lower Peak Forest)

Kingsbury waterpark Dead flat (Coventry canal)

Congleton Flat(Macclesfield canal)

Lyme park (Macclesfield canal 5th hardest in the country)

Warrington (Manchester ship canal)

Wolverhampton racecourse is one I'm hoping to do whilst afloat.

By the way, I wouldn't recommend arriving by boat on the MSC. Warrington was a joke although you do get to run alongside the ship canal

Tewkesbury, Evesham and Stratford-on-Avon are walking distance from the Avon.

Worcester and Gloucester are close to the Severn.

Market Harborough is walking distance from the Basin.

Gunpowder is not far from the Lee.

And on the Thames you are spoiled for choice. Including parkrun home at Bushy.
