Polycarbonate sheeting

Can it be painted? I want to use polycarbonate sheeting but don’t want the sun to get through so thought maybe a white gloss paint would reflect the sun’s rays and keep things shaded underneath.

Yes, and various colours and thicknesses.  I've just done an area at the back of the house with 'opal', which allows good light but is opaque.
