Without reading any of the foregoing....................if your engine has a closed heat exchanger system,and has pressurized "/smoke/hot/gas/steam/bubbly water" issuing from a filler orifice,then it has some serious derangement ,such as blocked water passages ,leaking/blown head gasket.or  a cracked casting..................and must be repaired,before the mechanism of the engine is damaged so it will not run.......................and I suggest you should look at the recent case of a boat owner jailed for operating a defective craft.

Yes, someone seems to have jumped into a BMC topic and asks about a Mitsubishi. It all got rather silly because he started picking holes in his answers. However I agree with Biscuits, something is amiss with the Mitsubishi even if it is just overfilling UNLESS he is driving it very hard. Could even be that it just needs the cooling system bleeding.
