Hi

One of my exhaust ports is leaking. Anyone know the gaskets I need to replace and where to buy please. Plus any tips on stripping back.

Also what whitworth nut size etc as I need the correct spanner not shifters.

If you need specialist gaskets (Copper non-asbestos sandwich etc.) I can recommend Gaskets to Go.  No connection, very satisfied customer.  Will even make 1-offs for a decent price. Google will find them.

This is the one you need assuming its the manifold to head  one that is leaking https://gardnerspares.com/product/lxb-lw-exhaust-manifold-packing/

or https://gardnerspares.com/product/steel-exhaust-packing-rectangular/ if its the outlet one.

Spanner size for the manifold clamp is 5/16" whitworth, thread size is 3/8" Whitworth, same for the outlet flange if it has the original pins

Walsh's Engineering in Manchester are very experienced in dealing with Gardner engines (they have rebuilt dozens of them) and carry some spare parts,

Ta. I used Gardner spares in the end. And now ordered a new header (from MPS) as the original was pitted through.

It's not just me then. In 12 years I have had no reason to fault our Walsh's-rebuilt 2LW - except for the paint. Problem now solved thanks to a tin of Gardner Grey from Redshaw's. Mortgage almost paid off now.
