Pretty town moorings

Looking to compile a list of pretty town moorings to explore; those that are on the edge of or in town or only a short walk away.  Does anyone have any favourites they'd like to share? Thanks

Haven't been on the water enough recently to be able to contribute but be ready for the 'sharing that will means it will no longer stays pretty' brigade!

Well whether you like a town is a personal thing but some that come to mind at Worcester, nantwich, Northwich, Oxford, Liverpool, but then you may think London and Birmingham are better

Birmingham definitely a good one. 

Loughborough too.

Towns may not suit everyone but we like variety, quiet country spot sometimes and other times we enjoy something more lively.

Salthouse Dock Liverpool must be in a class of it's own. Aylesbury town basin is nice.

Can’t believe Stratford upon Avon hasn’t been mentioned! Newbury is nice. Personally I wouldn’t stop in Nuneaten unless I had to (it may have been tongue in cheek!).

So, finally we have a thread with the potential to beat the number of posts on Brexit! What are we going to do here: list every pretty town and village on the waterways until the server overflows?

 

(I'm just off to see if I've popped my grumpy old cynical head on by mistake, but right now this seems like a fools errand...)
