HI, just booked for Liverpool in May. This is our second attempt and we are hoping the canal retains it's watertight integrity long enough for us to get in and out. Can anyone who has done the trip please advise the best place to moor for the night prior to setting off on the trip into the city. Thank you

An interesting typo in the title.  I had to think for a while what it was meant to be!......

Between bridges 10 and 11, between the winding hole and bridge 10 is the nicest spot. Good View into Liverpool though the evil Peel holdings want to build a depot on this field.  Some people go on and moor just before bridge 9 but that's not as nice. There a pub in Melling within walking distance (over swing bridge up through the stables) but Ive not been in because it won't take dogs.

From bridge 10 its only a short cruise down to bridge 9 (Hancocks) in the morning. Leave an extra few minutes as bridge 10 can be a bit temperamental.

We went last September.  Stopped at Burscough Swing Br 33. ( short walk to The Ship ).  Next day 7 hrs to Melling Br.10 .  Next day 3hrs. to Litherland Tesco ( good moorings & services). 2 1/2hrs right into Salthouse dock.  Enjoyed the trip but we did encounter a lot of weed around the Maghull area although CaRT were trying to clear it.

Thank you all, much appreciated. So once we have done the Lonk we will crack on and get into the Pool.

Where, in my experience, you may keep the 'allo 'allo theme alive by encountering more than a few fallen Madonnas with... etc. :giggles:

Since my typo I have been amusing myself ( as you do ) with changing vowels all over the place such as the Tront and Morsey canal etc. but, quite frankly it got a bit silly so stopped as I was spending far too much time giggling to myself in a corner.
