Hi there, I am looking to sell my two Kelvin TASC-8 diesel engines, from 1986. The box is not available, but all ancillary parts are available. 8 cylinders, 31 liter. 440 hp, rpm 1200. I thought there may be a collector out there interested, or a company who could find the parts useful. Does anyone know a place that would take these off my hands? Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi all, I'm new to narrow boats and currently looking for my first purchase to live on! I have a budget of £35K, and with that amount I do expect to buy something that I'm prepared to do some work on to either update things, or just modernise the interior. I've seen a boat advertised online (link below) that size wise and fit out wise really meet my specifications, and from the look of the interior there'd be no work that I would have to do. My question to you all is, why is it so cheap for what you seem to get? I'm still learning what factors make a difference to the price, but for this boat the only disadvantages seem to be a boat builder (Conmac) that I can't find anything on, its an owner fit out, and the paintwork seems very scruffy. No info on hull condition (no recent survey), and the blacking hasn't been done since 2017. https://www.greathaywoodboatsales.co.uk/shop/hydra-3/ If you wouldn't mind taking a look for me and offering some advice for a newbie, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi Canal World Boaters, My name is Katie and I am just about to buy my first boat. I haven't got much experience within the boat world and I am really looking for some advice about a boat I am seriously contemplating to buy. I was wondering if people could vet this boat that I am looking to buy and to flag anything that may scream out at you as a reason to avoid. The boat is a Springer 45ft Cruiser. Below is the description from the ad: 45 ft Curser sturn. New survey July 2019 Blacked July 2019.Great boat one of the best Springer's with a super layout. Very good condition, my dad has owned it for about 10years. We have just done all the work to get a good survey and boat safety cert. For the full details please see photos survey can be supplied. I still have a few little jobs to do but it very tidy and all works as it should. It's ready to put your stamp on it.Head hight 5ft 11in Specifications Builder: Springer Make: Springer Model: 45 Cruiser Stern Year constructed: 1977 Berths: 4 No. of engines: 1 Engine model: Perkings Length over all: 13.70m Engine(s) 2 cylinder Lister ST2 17.5hp. The interior is very dated and needs bringing into the 21st century but I see it as a project boat. I would like to think it is structurally and mechanically pretty sound but with no prior boating experience, I am reaching out for advice. Please also see pictures attached. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. TIA, Katie

Hi all, We will soon to be embarking on our first journey on our new boat. We're both new to boat ownership but do have limited experience between ourselves. This will certainly be the biggest trip we've done and we can't bleedin wait to get out there and explore. Before we do though, I thought I'd come seek advice here. The trip will begin at Bradford on Avon and end at Brentford, before moving on to the GU. Any tips and pointer for the challenges along the way, getting the boat ready, equipment needed, where to and not to moor, things that always take longer than they should and of course good pubs. We've got ourselves a Nicholsons guys but any other insider tips will be greatly appreciated. Main concerns are the sections on rivers as we haven't had any previous river cruising experience. Thanks!
