  1. If memory serves there was a slip onto the towpath in the same location in 2020, and they installed those gabions next to the towpath as part of the remediation work. I suspect that the adequacy of that remediation work might receive some scrutiny if any dispute developed between CRT and their neighbour.
  2. Only three asterisks though, so one might assume you meant "flowers" or "fellers" or something similar.
  3. On the other hand, maybe so: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13681662
  4. Mine too, in this case from an Arada stove with two cast iron lugs on the cover plate, when one of these snapped off for some reason. In my case there was no sign of smoke inside but when I checked (after putting the fire out!) the CO meter nearby was reading 20 ppm instead of the usual zero.
  5. Yet another is tobacco smoke. Not enough carbon monoxide to cause an acute problem on its own, but might be exacerbating emissions from other sources.

  19. Our Alde 2928 (I think) suffered problems with the flame pattern that the then UK spares supplier advised were due to corrosion on a heat exchanger falling down the flue that were unlikely to be resolved cost effectively for occasional leisure users. Though that might mean some years of very intensive use and associated (low cost per owner because shared) maintenance followed by a period of neglect. Worth finding out when the boat came out of shared ownership.
  20. Well there's a stove too, but within a fairly tight enclosure that will reduce heat transfer so limit its utility. Worth noting that the older Alde boilers are no longer in production, so spares might become an issue. Newer versions are available, but are a different shape so won't fit the old location, and may require a change away from copper on the hot water pipes and calorifier to avoid electrolytic corrosion.
  21. We had a share in a 2001 UK build Ownerships boat, and at that time the low front deck to allow the bi-fold pair of doors was a bit of a feature to allow four seated round a table in the well deck. On ours there were drain holes in the corners of the well deck with gauze covers on them that tended to allow puddling in heavy rain if there was any leaf fall. It wasn't a through bilge (the cabin bilge was separate) so I assumed there were pipes to carry the water to the engine bilge. I get the feeling that the design compromises assumed that the boat was likely to be occupied and on the move for almost all the time that it wasn't tied up somewhere for maintenance with someone keeping an eye on it. As to water tank capacity, our current boat's is 150 gallons (about 680 litres). We find that that would last two of us 4-5 days.
  22. Looks like there is already a rail fitted so that you can use it as a wardrobe.
  23. True enough, and as a lot of roads and railways also follow the topography, and by market demands have good coverage, the choice on where to stop can depend on preferences about background noise. Unless of course someone has a realy big aerial.
  24. I've had a contract with Smarty over the last few years, and have a backup O2 PAYG SIM in a second slot on my phone (with the idea that I could buy an O2 data add-on if required). I've found that in the few places with a poor or non-existent 3 signal (e.g. Crick, parts of the South Oxford summit) the O2 signal has also been very weak.
