  1. They are good, being multipurpose. They not only save turning a key in the lock but also save turning the handle when already unlocked.
  2. Neat antifreeze would definitely cause problems!!!
  3. Can I ask for the addition of Fluoride as well please? And vitamin supplements?
  4. I bought a Pela pump and never used the built-in hand pump again. Excellent device despite the fiddly tubes. Also recommend some white insulating tape. Stick it over the side and end of a new oil filter when fitting and it makes it very easy to see how much extra turn you have given it after it has got finger tight. A good complete set of metric spanners is essential anyway as where are you going to pray to, before you go to bed, without them? A man without a good set of tools is a man without a tool. Who said that?

  6. I remember in my college days travelling in a friend's uprated Morris something or another in the Welsh mountains at a certain amount more than 70 mph when the engine cut out. My friend shouted "bang on the side of the boot". We did and it recovered, and the process had to be repeated many times before we got to our destination. He had relocated an electric fuel pump to a temporary position in the boot and it kept sticking. Should this problem occur on a Beta, presumably dancing a hornpipe on the stern of your boat would effect a temporary cure?
  7. Fit a modified/enhanced motorcycle twist throttle to a standard tiller.
  8. The best advice I can give you is to spend many, many, hours ploughing through old topics on this forum using the search facility. Just about everything you need to know is tucked away on here. Lots of stuff on fitting out sailaways amongst other things. If you end up buying a sailaway then buy from Colecraft (as I did).
  9. Not what I expected but still female and expensive.

  11. The mount threaded end looks like 1" 14TPI but length of thread not obvious, the tube end would need to be measured accurately, perhaps OD - (2*wall thickness), and the length to be inserted would need to be chosen. Aluminium would seem to be appropriate?? PM me if you decide you want one as I am more certain to see it than a forum post.
  12. I have a lathe. I can probably make an adapter if you can be clear about what you need. For free.
  13. I was thinking more of when I went to a lot of trouble to satisfy a rule only to discover later that the tiny "A" in a corner of the page meant that it was only Advisory not Mandatory. (Has this changed ? - I haven't looked recently.) And whilst I'm winging, why is it so hard to find the rulebook? Its almost like they don't want you to find it. Or has that changed?
  14. The BSS is the foundation for everything. It is the bible. The first base. The forum is the next level, where you ask all the questions that are not clearly answered in the bible. And the clarity of the BSS is similar to that of the Bible!
  15. For hundreds of millions of years Darwin has been killing trillions of living things inhumanely. I don't think the brief period when we are on the stage matters very much. The delivery end is different. I wouldn't want people to become accustomed to killing or to get to enjoy watching suffering.
  16. How long have you had the boat? Are you sure that it is the water tank filler that you are putting the water in?
  17. ? Is the connection between the filling fitting and the tank defective? This would not leak if you put a hose right down into it but would if you tipped water from a jerrycan in.

  20. I fitted 25mm ply as flooring to my sailaway, very pleased with its solidity.

  23. Just to add, all of us on this forum are keen for you to do this project if you want to do it after you have got all the info we can give! We may sound discouraging at times but that is just a strong desire to make sure you have as much info as possible. Projects when fully informed can be great fun!!!
