  1. The mount threaded end looks like 1" 14TPI but length of thread not obvious, the tube end would need to be measured accurately, perhaps OD - (2*wall thickness), and the length to be inserted would need to be chosen. Aluminium would seem to be appropriate?? PM me if you decide you want one as I am more certain to see it than a forum post.
  2. I have a lathe. I can probably make an adapter if you can be clear about what you need. For free.
  3. I was thinking more of when I went to a lot of trouble to satisfy a rule only to discover later that the tiny "A" in a corner of the page meant that it was only Advisory not Mandatory. (Has this changed ? - I haven't looked recently.) And whilst I'm winging, why is it so hard to find the rulebook? Its almost like they don't want you to find it. Or has that changed?
  4. The BSS is the foundation for everything. It is the bible. The first base. The forum is the next level, where you ask all the questions that are not clearly answered in the bible. And the clarity of the BSS is similar to that of the Bible!
  5. For hundreds of millions of years Darwin has been killing trillions of living things inhumanely. I don't think the brief period when we are on the stage matters very much. The delivery end is different. I wouldn't want people to become accustomed to killing or to get to enjoy watching suffering.
  6. How long have you had the boat? Are you sure that it is the water tank filler that you are putting the water in?
  7. ? Is the connection between the filling fitting and the tank defective? This would not leak if you put a hose right down into it but would if you tipped water from a jerrycan in.

  13. Just to add, all of us on this forum are keen for you to do this project if you want to do it after you have got all the info we can give! We may sound discouraging at times but that is just a strong desire to make sure you have as much info as possible. Projects when fully informed can be great fun!!!

  16. We've been here before. Radiators transfer heat only by conduction and radiation. That the air heated by these two processes does indeed move heat away in a process called convection is true, but the initial transfer of heat has to be done by conduction and/or radiation.
  17. A train driver has to do more than drive the train. He has responsibility for millions of £s worth of equipment and for the management of upto 1000?? people, some of which will have heart attacks, be drunk, be off their heads, and deal with them when the automatic systems fail. Try driving a (automatic) tube train late evening during the Notting Hill carnival. And then there's the shift system with the 05:30 am starts. But that said, I think a part of everybody's salary should be proportional to the successful consistent delivery of their jobs so that strikes cost employes more and can't be considered as just unpaid extra holiday on convenient days.

  21. Flush the tap before filling. Flush the hose fully before use. Put a filter on your water tank's breather. Avoid drinking the stuff, drink alcohol. Fill bath with ass's milk. Think that covers it.
