  1. Try Johnson's baby wipes. I've found them great at removing just about anything - ink, tar, fresh paint, crayons and UHU. They're so good that I now keep a packet in the car for cleaning the leather seats and anything else that they manage to cover in goo. It does make me wonder what they did to my sons bum though!
  2. When I tiled my floor (with electric underfloor heating) I was told to use flexible tile adhesive, to account for thermal expansion etc. I was then informed of the price (ouch) - but was then told not to bother with it - just add some PVA glue to normal tile adhesive, and bingo - you've got flexible adhesive/grout. I can't remember the exact quantity to add, but it amounted to about a cupful in a big tub of grout.
  3. Richard - I think it would need to be room sealed, but it would work.
  4. Sorry BigC, A thermal store is like a storage heater that you might have in your house. You would heat up a block of concrete, wet sand, stones etc with coils from the engine/boiler etc as you in a normal calorifier. Then the cold input goes through lots more coils to extract the heat. It's very efficient as you only extract heat from it for the water your using and the thermal capacity of concrete is far higher than water. Robert is your parents brother.

  7. Damn and blast that Richard, I suppose I'll just have to take a ticket. You could try and dispense with the calorifier and put in a thermal store. That way you'll only heat the water you draw off, and would probably produce far more gallons of hot water for a given volume of tank than using a calorifier. Now that's got me thinking.....
  8. Time for my 2p worth: If you use 20 4mm drill bits for lining out, your drilling too fast. Just because it says HSS on the packet doesn't mean it'll take kindly to trying to fly through steel. As for gluing, I'd be pretty confident that it'll last - After all it's the same stuff that used in the building trade and quite extensively on new houses.....on second thoughts. If your really want the thing stuck, use an expoy glue. The boat will rot away before that stuff gives out. Not cheap though for the amount you need to line out.
  9. Wyndy, I assume you have a large main water tank, or are moored on top of a water point. A standard domestic bath holds around 200 Ltrs, so you'll be filling up pretty frequently - still, if you need someone to scrub your back......
