    Gloves

Excellent! Thank you for letting us know. I shall go and get some when the date comes.
  4. Is the handrail thick enough? Mine is about 3mm I think and if I were to put M10 in only one, possibly two, threads catch it. Or were you thinking of having a backing plate? Fairleads guide it though don't they? Did you still use the same central eye fixing?
  5. What happened to Hazel? It has a patrol notice now.

  7. I have been bitten a lot by dogs. I am always wary of dogs and regardless of whether my dog is friendly or not I am always aware that other people or dogs may not be friendly in return I am also aware that not everyone likes dogs and big dogs are overwhelming to some children. I find it intensely irritating when people say 'don't worry my dog is friendly'. I recall being pinned to the ground by such a dog before. Some of my friends are very friendly but every now and again some are not. It is the same with dogs. And dogs. My dog is very friendly, but various rabbits might not agree. He is big, by default he can still be frightening.
  8. So unbearably boring that it will hopefully put everyone off doing it. Success.
  9. My dog and I went to training classes. My dog slept through most of it but I learnt a thing or two. My dog being on or off the lead depends on all sorts of things and sometimes, naturally, I get it wrong.

    Lift Bridges

The bridges were rarely weighted properly and the lock is the solution. I used to use a banbury pole or wait for someone to go past. Some of them have chains and hooks and i have seen others weight them down with all sorts of things.
  11. Eh up. That is a bit strong. You said you had no idea, now you say there was more smoke. People are just trying to help here. There have been a number of suggestions regarding the modification/care of the stove as well as offers for help. Coal type aside I hope you are able to resolve the stove issue before it gets really cold, if they are bad enough to need to.

  17. The one from screwfix is up to 300 Edit to add....if it is no good for stoves , what did you use?
  18. I got some from the chandlers and then some from screwfix.
  19. I will be interested to see how these fair over time. I've always thought that condensation will form between the two layers which will rot the steel. I welded some right angle brackets on to my roof and bolted the solar panels to them.
  20. At the start of every year of buying coal I always ask our coal man which coal he recommends and I go for that. Particularly do it as I was under the impression quality of the coal changes over time. It was made clear on page one that this is not an option after I suggested something along those lines (unwelding the baffle) ] This is all good news. The proposed coal situation is resolved. You know you want to burn smokeless. You know the stove can't be modified. You have attacked and are clearing the clinker that you have removed. Sounds like celebration is order. The clinker builds up over time and now you know what it is you will be able to keep an eye on the flu over winter to be sure it is all whistle clean for you. The signs you spotted in hindsight will be able to help you too which is great. Hurrah! Edit to add happy clappy icons not inserted as the ipad doesn't do them.
