  8. Surely he had removed the filler cap, It may subsequently ignite traces of diesel vapour but would only then be a volcano out of the filler neck not an explosion. If he hadnt removed the filler cap he was a fool

  10. If you were to gather all the gas expelled on this forum, as well as any self produced methane after say a good chicken vindaloo or a beanfest this may be an alternative http://www.small-farm-permaculture-and-sustainable-living.com/methane_generator.html
  11. The reason southern waterways have such distinct features are to help boatowners survive and to protect themselves from endless health and safety based decisions. A] Narrow canals so as not to get lost.. by only being able to go in one direction and not winding which would cause confusion and disorient the easily confused. B] Shallow canals as they seem to have a propensity for falling in. C] Overcrowding almost everwhere so as to maintain the usual congestion felt whilst going about daily life. D] Inflated pricing on every essential item to create delusions of grandeur and oneupmanship as is required when looking down ones nose at those who just nod their head and get on with life.

  17. Trust you Trust you you argumentative sod!!!!!!! doesnt matter where it ends up someone will benefit like I said some boaters are selfish, there are other users of water on the planet you know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt say the canals had universal use of water that was the whole point, another narrowminded self interested post post Thankyou You have by definition a broad mind Rob
  18. Strictly speaking theres no such thing as water loss, just repositioning. Ones mans "loss" is another mans gain. If water is moving from one part of a system to another its just the case that someone some where else is getting the benefit. Like you say in your post some boaters are selfish, but dont think for a minute that any water flowing to another part of a canal is lost forever into some black hole, it just carries on, on its jouney prematurely for some but early for others and this may cause some one a little inconvenience, so be it
  19. Seems standards have gone to hell in a basket, thankfully up north civilisation still abounds
