  2. Bad luck!, but your mooring or at least the photo youve posted seem like a nice spot so all is not lost!
  3. Try my link in the first post you replied to, it is haulage based. I have roped and sheeted more lorries than you can shake a stick at The topsheet that covers the sheets is called the drip and is quite often pvc http://www.tonybeal.com/tarp.htm#regentex https://www.rhinocargocontrol.co.uk/index.php?cPath=1_112 http://netandcoverservices.co.uk/default.aspx http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=regentex&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1024&bih=649&tbm=isch&tbnid=iNVYOgL5W6mIvM:&imgref http://www.jtinglis.com/technical/regentex.html
  4. Good man tho i cant see why the op hasnt come up with a supplier as they are easy to google, my link was the first I came to although they maynot be the best source I,m sure that others could be found with a little leg work
  5. I have posted this link in another thread a few days ago, they supply Beru heater plugs I think this is where Bizzy got his idea hope it helps http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ccp/beru-glow-plugs-ccp.asp
  6. My link was a propmt in the right direction and the various materials available would present themselves from such a link, however I bow to your hands on experience, although personally Regentex would be my choice but purely for reasons of practicality and if they are accepted as the best for road transport and the hostile enviroment that loads endure whilst being transported on british roads in all weathers and at road speeds I would have thought for "decorative" boat use they would be under exposed. [smiley ending not a hostile reply!]

  9. You may struggle if you have a two pack paint that has been applied correctly. There are specialist strippers such as Dichloromethane and phenol for stripping such coatings but they arnt widely available. Is the sander not touching it at all or is it just taking too long? It begs the question if its taking so much getting off why remove it in the first place
  10. I doooonnt believeit, I grew up where that engine was for sale and its about thirty minutes from where I now live!!!! It wasnt Casp. He is distracted with work I think and other ghostly duties Ive hankered after a Saab for a while and to miss this one the doorstep is a terrible oversight, however I have bigger fish to fry at the moment and have fallen in love with another temptress about which I am keeping stum, I am a sucker for a burmese teak body and a faint whiff of mildew and diesel on wood
  11. Regentex cloths as used in the haulage industry are the norm, try these people they are long established and easy to deal with, or google Regentex cloth sheets and the worlds your oyster http://www.tonybeal.com/tarp.htm

  13. I had a 4236 on a generator that spewed a large amount of diesel through the seal on the end of the fuel distribution pump shaft where it entered the timing chain chest it filled the sump in no time, probably different on yours but thought it worth a mention
  14. As Bizzy implied It seemed the thread had died and like yourself I gave a reply to the op,s request for advice which seemed to fall on deaf ears, He is now asking for help elsewhere about something different
  15. Schoolboy tittering methinks Don http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bonk

  17. Something not up to the job sorry you asked for that!
  18. I would have thought in the days of commercial carrying on the canals, icebreaking was a neccesity. However nowadays as most traffic is pleasure and the boats therefore not designed for such a task it is a rather pointless exercise when the likely outcome is taken into consideration. Even a boat such as Sickle is no longer fully equipped having been altered from working spec. The requirement for breaking such solid and restricted masses as is encountered when breaking thick ice requires an equipment pecification which cant be compromised. Any vessel will require the ability to rise up and over the ice and to exert a downward force rather than a forward only "attack" along with momentum from extra weight which pleasure vessels dont afford. Inevitably the haphazard and untidy "icebreaking of modern and modified vessels will lead to not only blacking damage but structural stress that unsuitable vessels were never meant to endure.
  19. Beru is the make, Apparently these are the people and are available from different suppliers, dont know about the quality though http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ccp/beru-glow-plugs-ccp.asp
