Thank you for that. I just thought that whilst the roof was being stripped, it was a good time to upgrade. I have gone for the 4x4 antenna as a bit of future proofing, ready for a 5g router when required. I will have a play with the connections when it all goes back together and forget the splitter.

Sorry to resurrect a very old post, but it does give context. The set up fitted in 2016 has served us very well, even enabling due to a change in circumstances, Ali to work off the boat over the last few summers. At the moment, the boat roof is being repainted and removal of the Fullband dome antenna is required, so it seems a good time to upgrade our system a little. The Huawei mifi is still working, but becoming some what old technology now. As previously stated, I am a technophobe. I propose to replace the existing dome antenna with a Fullband FB4X4MINIDOME and the mifi with a TP-Link MR600 (V3) router. In fact I have these ready to fit once the roof is ready. Already linked the existing antenna to the new router on our trip to the painters and it worked fine. But... The new antenna has four leads. The router has two sma antenna ports. Do I try using just two of the leads, or could I try using a Tuolink sma splitter cable (sma male to dual sma female), or would this compromise signal quality? Appreciate your thoughts.

Must admit, we pootled past the gathering last year. Not having a historic craft, we were transparent. We know our place.

Ours is 58'6". The C&H was fine, with care and going Katy corner up. But you had to be aware of the walkway. I think ours is comfortably a go anywhere size, without restricting living accommodation. 🤔

We use tablets on the boat in the main. As location works on a GPS connection, it often helps to take the device outside of the boat, thus annulling the Faraday cage that is the boat. Quickly finds our mapping location then. Find it odd that even with an external aerial on our mifi,it takes physically taking the device out of the confines of the boat, to get the correct location.. But I am a dim technophobe.

The tinternet was brilliant for us above Trevor, hence why we spent so much time up there, as it allowed Ali to work easily. Became rather familiar with the trip boat schedule and the winding hole at Bryn Howell. And.... it was very quiet. Try Gales wine bar for food. Simple menu, we'll done. They also serve a rather nice IPA.

I would estimate that the tap has a brass thread of approx 1 inch diameter, far bigger than the standard hozelock adaptor. Yep, exactly the same.i carry a good supply of various adaptors, but not one to fit these taps. Wondering if anyone local to the area has any idea. Fosse locks services a bit further from Leamington, normal service resumes. Tap and adaptor in perfect harmony once again.

Now five days allowed in the basin. We spent a few weeks bimbling twixt Trevor and Llangollen this summer( Ali working off the boat!) Rather nice mooring on rings just past the lift Bridge going upstream. Cracking view of Castell Dinas Bran. We are about 27" and had no problems atoll.

Coming down the GU In to Warwick, we tried to top up the water tank at the services top of Hatton. The thread on the tap appears non standard, certainly larger than the normal Hozelock connector we usually use. Same below the locks at the Cape of good hope( had a cracking Sunday lunch yesterday). Is there a new standard, or am I as usual being a little dense?😋

Hiya. We had a trip to RHS Bridgewater at Worsley recently, mooring just past the marina (from your direction of travel) on the same side as the RHS. Great moorings and quiet. I am sure someone with more local knowledge will be along soon.

I personally don't have any recent experience of Castlefield, but we have been on the Bridgewater in recent months. Which route are you taking?

Came up the Wolverhampton 21 today heading for the Black Country Museum. Water crystal clear, but full of weed. The blanket weed being the worst. Even judicial reverse every 100 m didn't prevent an engine stall when something more substantial got tangled in the mess. Thus far no weed hatch exploration,yet! At least you can see the plastic bags!
