  1. They tried this with the roving winter permits a couple of years ago, it was a financial and boating success.. However, some very clever people from the Bargeenontravellingclub decided to challenge it's legality so they were dropped.
  2. This area has been non stop since the schools went back.
  3. If there are no boats there, you are entitled too moor for 14 days as per normal. This happens a lot. Occasionally....some wise peep may tell you otherwise , however, this is good and proper.
  4. We did have some friendly abuse when doing the BCN challenge in 2014, and some young lads who couldn't stop singing about the Albion.....
  5. James is doing an absolute whizz at Rugby Boats selling them before he even has them on his website and us at the workshops are now taking bookings for boat paints in 2019!! ☺
  6. Indeed, Martin had the problem once, and then e-fish again.
  7. Pretty sure the faulty seal is on your water pump shaft. It is a common problem on those engines. What is your boat name and I will check with Bob in the morning . Stupid me, just realised who you are, definitely water pump. Will try to enlighten you tommorow.
  8. The Tesco shoppers who descend on the store for the reduced bargains can be vicious if you stand in front of the cabinet for longer than 30 seconds without moving at least 3 items around and picking a couple up.
  9. The price is excellent and they are a brilliant piece of kit. In store from. Sunday, Aldi.
  10. It doesn't matter, it's a different worksheet and contractor so will not get done. I was chatting to some ex CRT lads surveying that earlier in the year, they know about the problems but are not allowed to do anything other than is on their worksheets, even though they walk past it on the way to the culvert . They don't even carry windlass' unless they are required to use them as part of the works specified.
  11. There is no Liverpool boats. Try Collingwood for a ( very ) similar style.
  12. Looks like theyve already shut the Leicester Ring until March 16th 2018
  13. In that case, why is not a single one of those locks down for Winter maintenance??
  14. It's pretty much buggered up my plans to Winter on the Soar somewhere as I don't finish painting until 1st week of November. Coming back for a March start will also be via the long way round.
  15. Ridiculous management decision. They cant be bothered to fill pounds below Kilby Bridge. Why not just shut the entire length from Saddington tunnel winding hole if the flight is short of water. Every boat using the flight down to Kilby is going to waste just as much water as a boat continuing to Leicester.
  16. Indeed, ,almost invisible...
  17. Had a chat to the old owners at Atherstone bottom who'd been to Alvecote, and moving it to Braunston for the handover.
  18. This tug deck has just sold too, only been listed a few days, if that!! https://rugbyboats.co.uk/listings/yarwood-66ft-tug-style-narrowboat-2012/
  19. 3 days after being advertised.
  20. Not sure whether it's me, but I have had Ikea lights, in the bathroom , kitchen above the hob and main cabin for about 7 years now, strip style lights that are in warm white. They were supposed to fit inside cupboards or wardrobes and come on when the door was opened. All I did was cut the transformer off and wire into the 12v system. Not a single led bulb has stopped working yet. Exactly where my first one was fitted.
  21. Make that 3, this one's 17 years old and it's been on for 6 months of the year for the last 10.
  22. ....and also towed by animal thingys on the towpath. .....
