  1. ive found a few videos on utube of kubota fuel pumps and there squirting more fuel than mine is so im going back to the boat later to see whats going on... hoping it is a fuel issue.. if its just the pump itself ive seen a video where they just use a 12v pump instead so might go that route as the pump is a pig to get to on the engine... will update later when i get back.. feeling confident now...
  2. well i managed to get down to the boat and zilch... glow plugs all good.. fuel all clean and no water ... took pipe of injector and turned engine over and fuel drips out of the pipe in time with the engine so i gather thats ok... turn engine over with no throttle and half and full and nothing, no white smoke or anything... tried the cheapy easystart again and nothing... stop start mech seems to be working fine... but i now think it could be head gasket as i thought i would check the oil and there was water in the dipstick hole.. not creamy oil.. oil is still black but with water aswell... only thing i can think is water is going into the head chamber and then seeping past the rings then into the sump...
  3. wow.. thankyou everyone for your help and ideas.... hopefully i will get down to the boat tomorrow to have a better look at the fuel system .. would of looked today but her indoors needs to help with my wheelchair down to the boat... the stop lever was fully closing ok but not sure how the internals of it works incase something went wrong inside it... will post how it goes...
  4. there is a regular drip with each cycle, not huge but noticable... nothing has changed at all... was shut down about 8 weeks ago with the pull stop as usual and then went back yesterday to start it and just turning over and over... thought it could be duff battery so brought a new one but just the same... so baffling ... something has just sprung to mind though... the easy start is not the genuine brand its just a cheaper version, i wonder if that would make a difference... i just get this nagging feeling its something to do with the stop pull...
  5. i have opened an injector.. just a small drip , not squirting out...
  6. air filter is clean and clear.... must be the compression, which is strange as it spins much faster if i use the decompression lever.. just dont understand how it was running great when last switched off and now nothing... all valves etc are opening and shutting... think it might have to go into the workshops to be fixed as im totally lost.. just hope it isnt a new engine job....
  7. i just dont get it either.. lol.. i gather theres good compression as when i turn the decompression lever the engine spins alot faster... it was a brand new battery today so cant be that... do you know if the pull stop cuts the fuel supply to kill the engine?
  8. checked filter and all good.. and fuel is pumping out of the pump ok when i use the primer pump... if it was a fuel issue shouldnt it still fire with the easy start? thanks tony... i think i will have to go through the system again... fuel is dripping from an injector union when turning the engine over , when ive loosened it i mean..
  9. has a full tank of fuel ... engine is turning as fast as it always has.... no smoke what so ever from exhaust... im just lost...
  10. ive got a little 3 pot nanni (kubota) engine in my boat and its always started first time until now... not been started for a couple of months... ive put a new battery on as thought it might be that then ive tried easy start and still not starting, not even trying.. took glow plugs out and there glowing red ok... im now lost and wondered if anyone has any advice before booking it in to be looked at... the engine stop is moving ok on the engine when pulled... does engine stop just cut the fuel to engine? thanks
