I've just tried that on an iPad and a MacBook without any issue, Laurie, but I can see it's a bit frustrating. I've tagged Rich, and hopefully, he'll come along to help you resolve this one.

We prefer ginger nut biscuits here at Mod Central. The site will place a cookie on your computer to remember you and save your settings. Their use is debatable because your internet activity can be logged using them but generally the fear is worse than the actuality. They're used to direct advertising in the main but that always seems a bit hit and miss. I nearly always get hair colouring and haemorrhoid treatments recommended to me because I spend a lot of time here and looking up train information and the advertising profile that is attached to those sites that of a late middle-aged man. Every so often, I clear the whole lot out on my computer, you can do that by going into the history tab and scrolling down or going into search. You can also set your own computer to reject cookies from the get-go but I find it makes going back to half-remembered sites a right pain. Depends on how you feel about a computer 'remembering' you, I suppose.
