  1. The engine is a 1.5, the starter motor is 2 hole. I have got one now and it is working perfect.thanks for all the replies.
  2. I forgot to reply to this thread. The starter motor is actually a 1.8 model, not 1.5. Still having trouble with the rebuild place.
  3. Thanks for the replies, I will try and get to the boat tomorrow and do the rubbing, good idea. Right I can get my hands on a 3 hole one tomorrow or Weds, so might try that
  4. Hi , help required please. I have a BMC1.5 engine in my boat and the starter motor went kaput, so I took it to a local place for rebuilding, they have lost it, so while I am in discussions about how they are going to sort it( it s looking like the company may be going under, so I am not holding out much hope). I need another one obviously, but this is where I am stumped, the old one only had 2 bolts holding the starter on, but all the ones I see for sale have 3. I cant get the part number from the old one , so and I realise this is a long shot, has anyone got any idea of which starter motor it could be or suggest a replacement ? I am needing to move the boat fairly quickly , so any advice on which one , is gratefully received. Thank you in advance.
  5. Not true, I thanked all that replied.
  6. If it doesnt show what sub forum its in, what is the point of having sub forums ?
  7. No its the same one. I remember why I stopped using this forum now, some of the so called helpful people are just ar**holes. I will never bother to ask a simple question again. I just thought that it being in the BMC section, then you would be pretty certain that it was about a BMC engine. I didnt realise that every engine was totally different , but now I do, I apologise for not knowing it was called the rockerbox cover breather. Anyway I must remember to post a photo of the engine next time, even though as stated I was a hour away from the boat and if I was going to go and take a photo, then I could just have measured it .Insert other media Thanks to everyone that replied .and rest assured this is the last place I will ever ask another question in. Too many just wanting an argument here it seems.
  8. Hi, I have had a look on here and I cannot find the answer so , here goes, What is the size of pipe I need for the engine breather pipe? The one from the top of the engine that goes to the air filter housing. Mine has got a crack in it and like a fool I forgot to measure the diameter before coming home and its a hour trip to the boat. I know that the good people on here are very knowledgeable nad I am hoping someone could help me. Thanks Mark
  9. With our BMC 1500, we have to glow the plugs for about 45- 60 seconds before it will fire up. Depending on the temp. They really are a bas***d to get going sometimes, but once running they go forever.

  15. Martin, all my family are on 3 and my kids have 500 mins and 5000 texts and last month between the 3 lads they used 16850 texts!!!! YES sixteen thousand texts in a month between three lads!!!! My eldest used 5800, my youngest used 6090 and the middle one was the only one to keep inside his allowance using only 4960! I asked how they managed to text so many times during a month and the answer is "WE TYPE FAST!!"
  16. The only advantage of Lancashire is its close proximity to Gods own County YORKSHIRE!!!!!
  17. Is that Nigel from Shire Cruisers? I have always found him to be a true gent and more than fair.
  18. I would never ever use Craftinsure again, they were an absolute nightmare when we had to claim. I would ay to anyone that is getting any insurance-READ THE POLICY THROUGH < THEN READ IT AGAIN, then get someone else to read it. Then if you are happy with all the wordings etc. buy it.
  19. It is, but some people just like to moan about the greatest sporting event ever seen in Britain. "It costs too much, it is stopping me doing things Yadda yadda yadda!!!!"
  20. £4 for a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord!!!!!! Bloody hell! I thought it was dear at the Wharfside here in Wakefield at £3. Good beer but but that is extortionate.
  21. Finding your boat sunken is the worst feeling I have ever had so far in my life. I really feel for the owner.
  22. See OP, he states there were 5 NBs already there this morning. Although how 5 boats are rafted in pairs is baffling!
  23. I read that too, very strange!!!
