Thank you for your prompt reply, i am sure i can do what is required on locks, Good point about swing bridges need to check these out my biggest fear is that i will hold up a lot of people on the canal as i imagine it will take twice as long to operate stuff with one person then with two people. Thank you, will need to check this out sounds like it was a nightmare

Strange title, looking to buy a 45ft canal boat, will be moored on the Thames in Reading close to Kennet and Avon canal. Major trips over 4 days will accompanied but many day trips will be just me, although the Thames locks are manned i am concerned about the Kennet locks and how difficult is the process with just a single person. Has anyone got any experience or advice

Are you still looking for crew support this summer 2023. i did quite a lot narrow boating on the canals in my youth and really enjoyed it, would love to see it the spark is still there

Wanted to ask if you stayed on the narrow boat all through the winter and was it very cold
