I'm trying one of your ideas. I had an o ring the right size so have glued it to leather. I'll wait for it to dry and try it tomorrow 😃

I think I may have found something that would work .. https://www.123bearing.co.uk/seals-CL-7.50X40X8-NBR90 I do have some leather I could use but it wouldn't fit properly as it would need stamping into shape I think. 😭

It's definitely rubber and a proportion of the outside raised edge has rotted away.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy replacement rubber piston seals for the top part of a stern gland greaser? 4cm diameter. Mine has perished... I have googled but can't find any.
