  1. I’ve got some ideas now and got back into the challenge mode. I will just have to be patient now…… suppose I could service Rivets?………….hands sat on!
  2. It’s the time scales I’m exploring at the moment but I doubt the points will change much
  3. We were in Rivets so we went as far up towards the next bridge before it got too shallow
  4. Last time through on Ferrous was July 2021 and the Wolverhampton level was brimming. It just fitted under the gauge but lots of room in the tunnel at the lowest point
  5. It is lower. Best to go from Parkhead as the gauge is about 2” higher and there’s no quibble When was the earthquake?
  6. We would consider going through Dudley Tunnel on the Sunday and I’m sure Ferrous would as well, if we could show a joint interest to Becky at the trust well in advance I suspect the outcome would be more favourable
  7. Just a thought now that the sheet of metal has been removed from the cape arm entrance, can we get bonus points for a photo on the other side of the entrance tunnel??
  8. I think David and I will compete again in Rivets, will try not to fall in this year!
  9. That’s fantastic! Unfortunately there’s not a lot of space in Rivets for a trolly or two!
  10. Always thought it would be a good idea to get extra points for fishing rubbish out of the canal during the challenge
  11. Don’t know what you’re talking about 😂😂😂
  12. I think the two of us on Rivets were glad to survive the event! cunning plans for next year hopefully not thwarted by bridge closures and paddle boarders! Fantastic event and really enjoyed it again after a break of about 30years! Thanks to all who took part and all who organised. I think it’s safe to say will be back!
  13. Amazing foundryman and engineer
  14. Ferrous is running a 3lw and 24” prop
  15. The original engine was an Austin 7 engine and gearbox the Velocette was a later power plant and then a petter. The Kubota is my creation coupled to a reliant regal box
  16. The brass one is scale and actually works better than the little one I knocked up to trial for the weekend. The little one works well for hard steering.
