    I did think one or the other. Planning on being topped up before getting on the Bridgewater. There are a couple of places but not obvious.

    Ian would be able to appreciate the tunnel bands on his way in. But looking closer the ropes are out of the way I reckon.

    We are docking next week for blacking. i take the opportunity to repaint the tunnel bands. We have a red one and a creamy yellow one. Just got the Red out and it’s defunct. It is/was Signal Red. The admiral now says she has never liked the shade of red. so, question. What is the brand and ‘shade’ of red does anyone prefer. The mind boggles.

    Malta Inn is non tidal. The Boatyard is tidal.

    My eldest son was married to the daughter of the boatyard owner at Allington, just tidal side of the lock near the Malta Inn. Malcolm has now died and his wife Trudie is now in charge. There’s a lot of land involved in the family ownership.
