Hello. I'm contemplating getting into inland boating and wondering whether it is likely to be practical for me. I live near Skipton in Yorkshire which, from what I can see at the uppermost of the canal systems. My situation is that I have a family with 2 kids and hold down a full time job.
I mention all this because it is likely I'm only only be able to use at weekend and family holidays and being at the uppermost of the canal system, limited in terms of destinations unless I moor up at successive places.
My Questions are therefore :
1. Is it practical to moor at different places, in between weekends etc, so as to be able to travel around rather than keep returning to base.
2. If so, what are the security implications - would I have to keep taking everything out ?
3. I can't get my head around how I'd get to and from locations.
Maybe I should stick with renting in this situation, but any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
