  1. Cleese regulators. Supplied by Midlands amongst many others. The recall document is easily found online, mine isn't to hand at present.
  2. The old Dusty, Mark, has retired from boats, I don't know the full reasons, but I suspect that humping coal around is not a job you can do forever. I know he misses the canal. He's certainly a character and has turned his hand to all sorts over the years. Last I heard, he is now making very high quality moulds for chocolatiers!
  3. The new Dustys (he & she) now go as far as Fenny Compton. The old Dusty (he) only went as far as Claydon bottom. They do make regular trips, but I suspect contacting them without a mobile isn't going to be easy.
  4. The section below Nell Bridge has been on a navigation restriction notice since December, but they lifted that this week. I can only assume it is navigable at present, there are Heyford boats in arriving in town today. According to the graphs I viewed it recovered quickly from the last down pour, so I'd guess you should be alright Bill.
  5. We've got a dishwasher and washing machine. I'll add that we are live aboard with a hookup, but do go cruising a bit. When away from the home mooring we have a generator that will run either device happily. I agree that expecting to be able to run them from batteries or engine will require some thought and knowledge. Do these items belong on a boat? Yes, in the same way that TV's and MiF's do. Can they be made to fit? We shoehorned a candy compact washer in to an exisiting fit out successfully. When we lengthened and refitted the washing machine and dishwasher were designed in.
  6. I've bought them on ebay in the past. They come up quite often if you think creatively with search phrases!
  7. Another happy Morco owner here too. Wouldn't be without ours. Other than a blow out to get rid of any dust and a glance at the gas pipes every now and then, there is no maintenance. Flow rate needs dropping a little when the water tank is really cold, but we never struggle to get a hot shower. We did loose our original Vailant to a cold snap one night when we went away and didn't leave any heating on, but other than that, 10 years of happy instant water!
  8. Brinklow did our 20' stretch a few years ago. Search my posts on here and you'll find a build blog that covers it. Must get round to updating that to cover the fit out too.
  9. We've got a 32" Samsung LED on the wall opposite the sofa, quite happy with it! I looked at Chromecast and decided it wouldn't work on a boat without a internet connected wifi network. In effect it doesn't mirror the image from you iPad to the screen, using the data on the iPad, instead it tells the Tv what is on the iPad and where to find it on the net, the Tv then finds this and displays it on screen. So, if you have a dongle, with a wifi router that both tv and iPad are connected too, Chromecast will work. If you iPad has a sim in it, or you are connected to a public wifi network, Chromecast won't work.
  10. We've got an epoxy Black on our hull, it's great. However, I don't overcoat with epoxy as it needs a very good key. So, we dock every three years and overcoat with Intertuf16. It doesn't react with the epoxy, goes on well and keeps us smart and black. Any abrasions are wire wheeled back and intertuf applied to the bare steel. Touching up with epoxy seems silly as you will never key the area well enough without blasting. I've been doing this on our boat for 10 years now and have never had any problems, last survey came back just as good as the first one.
  11. I suspect the mooring will be of interest to many. Have a good search for boats that have sold in the past few years on the Hythe Bridge Arm. Many of those had transferable moorings, but if I recall no real security of tenure. £80k is certainly the sort of figure I've seen for boats on desireable residential moorings, but unless there was some guarantee on the length of tenure, I think I would be hard pushed to part with cash for a non-guaranteed spot. I suspect a call round some of the local brokers would give you some idea, ultimately any item for sale is only ever worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. Best of luck with the sale, I've always admired Baseplate when passing.
  12. Hi Rog, That was certainly the case until about a year ago, we took over last May and are making the dock available to all from April this year. Prices on our website or PM me. Sorry to have de-railed the OP's thread!
  13. I've heard good things about Beccy Roberts although I've not used her. Dean Box did our writing which I'm very please with. For others reference, we have a 50' wet dock at Sovereign Wharf in Banbury.
  14. ....and another vote for Clive. He looks after many of the boats around Banbury. http://www.mantmarine.co.uk/
  15. ^^ exactly! Plus I'll add 'better the devil you know' into the equation. Had we sold up and put the lengthening money together, we would still be looking at second hand boats. At least with ours I know it has a clean bill of health!
  16. If you're certain you've got a good supply of fuel as far as the injector pump then you'll probably need to crack open the nut that holds the pipes onto the injectors. Then crank the engine over until diesel flows from each injector. This is how I've always bled Diesel engines. Never worked on a Beta before, so I may be wrong.
  17. I did think this, hence the first line of my post. You're right Tony, my Bukh is wet liners, and they were't exactly easy to get out. I can imagine an interference fit dry liner needing a huge amount of pressure, as most of the later posts seem to imply! Best of luck to the OP in finding a puller. I looked long and hard when I needed one and couldn't find anywhere that would hire one.
  18. I know nothing about Listers, but if the liners are anything like my Bukh, the manual convinced me I needed a puller, but in reality it was perfectly easy to gently knock them out from below using a block of wood and a large hammer. Not sure if the same would work for you?
  19. If you're the same 'Charlotte M' that has just moored opposite us, then it doesn't look like a Liverpool boat to me, but i'll look again in daylight!
  20. Correct! If I remember right, one is on compression while the other is on exhaust. Cracking little engine, I love ours!
  21. Our DV20 is 20hp and pushes our 57' along quite happily at canal speeds. No problems stopping or manoeuvring either. Yet to try her on a river since the lengthening, but I'm fairly confident the Thames would be fine in all but the worst winter flow.

  23. Here's Sparky. He loves living on the boat and gets quite excited when we start the engine!

  25. Oxon Boat Painting Co. Based at Brinklow, but the boss lives much closer to Cropredy. Highly recommended and we're still getting comments on our paint 18months later. I know there are many other happy customers on here. http://www.oxonboatpainting.co.uk/
