  1. Hi. I have been told my uneven running of my engine(Isuzu35) is down to a deteriorated governor spring, could anyone tell me where it is?please. I'm told it's near the fuel filter but I won't be back at boat until tomorrow.Any help much appreciated.
  2. Try Stourport marina..The wharf in Diglis inner basin is still used as a lift site for mobile cranes, usually by Pinders. Give Pinders@Stoke Prior a call to see who they use to drop there dutch barges in.Sorry i'm not there at mo as i would of walked over to ask Jason, but i know they use the crane at Stourport Wharf.Hope this helps
  3. I would think that the reason they wanted you to pay from Feb is that's when the old moorers, contract ran out, even thought they left early. There's a big waiting list for widebeams(especially as that one could of been easily upgraded to residential) in the marina/area,I'm,not trying to defend BWML'S pressure on you but I for one are glad that there at least trying to run a business, reducing costs and empty spaces.I know of a fair few moorers there who have started contracts early just to secure the mooring purely because of the unavailability and In the past few years many people have bought boats just to get a mooring, the demand has been so high. It's a good happy place to moor! The 30% charge is certainly not discretionary,it's in the T&C'S,maybe they were not enforcing it as they knew you were not going to occupy the mooring for a couple of months, surely that's a charitable gesture?I'm sure if you were selling your boat and had a few people wanting to buy it you would sell it to the person who had the funds available there and then rather than the person who said they would pay you in 3 months time, yet leave no deposit.Personnally i think they've handled it the right way,you were next on the list so they offered it to you,you did'nt want it at this time so now they will offer it to the next person on the list.To me that's an efficient business, supply and demand,as you could turn round in 3 months time and say you did'nt want it could you not? To my knowledge, there have only been 2 Widebeam moorings come up in the last 6 years! I wish you well in your mooring search, there were river moorings available at the "Ketch" on the Severn in December, you could also try Stourport Marina(not basin) and Portharb Boats in Northwick marina if thats any interest to you. PS:The old couples don't mind the smoke at all, they both love the boats, even to the point of letting moorers use their water taps last winter during the big freeze. It's the flats round the inner basin that don't like the smoke.
  4. Hi,I moor in Diglis. The Porcelain moorings are up on the left as you come out of Lock No2,Go past Pinders Dry Dock and just after the first block of flats, the black BWML Gate designates the start of them, the most likely available mooring is just before the Dutch Barge, then it's very short herringbones for a small length, then possibly 2/3max towpath moorings. The moorings that back onto"The Anchor" are classed as the Outer Basin, the Inner Basin is through the swing bridge, the ones on the right as you come out the locks are classed as "Lock Cottage"or "On The Green" moorings, where the 2 BWML Staff reside.I'm not there at the mo but please ask anything else. Just found this pic,It's where the blue boat is,with the gate just on the left. The green/red/white boat has moved on and a dutch barge is there now.Nice old couples in the ground floor flats. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XNqx9O_dtfM/Tw3R2GgCl8I/AAAAAAAABI0/rgtPW9CUivM/s1600/diglis+flats+and+boats.jpg
  5. Hi,I'm moored in Diglis, the Elsan point next to Jandco Chandlers is a BW key,no charge...
  6. In Diglis outer marina they've had a GRP cruiser go down in the last 2 days, the guy has lived aboard on it for a longwhile(cause not known yet),a narrowboat also went down on xmas eve,BW seem to think the water tank had split,BW have came today to boom them both off and said they will drop the basin 2 feet when its thawed to help get them back afloat.
  7. many many thanks for all your replies, ive now purchased trojan batteries and had the float reduced from 14.4 to 13.5.thanks again..... Tim
  8. Hi all At the moment i am living aboard in a worcester marina permanently connected to 240v shoreline, and my batteries now need replacing as they won't hold any substantial charge when disconnected from shoreline. I have a sterling 3000w inverter/charger/monitor which is permanently on float/charge and i venture out cruising maybe 4/5 times a year(7 days max). the battery bank at the moment is 4x 110ah and a starter battery charged by sterling and twin alternators on isuzu,my question is do i replace with another 4 leisure? type batteries or can i get 2/3 good batteries(possibly trojans?). as i need the 12v power whilst in marina for fridge/lights/eberspacher,would it be possible and is it feasible to disconnect all my new batteries(when purchased) and use one of the knackered ones(if i have to use 1) to transmit 12v power ,so the others are not on constant permanent charge and then when i go cruising, disconnect the knackd one(if req) and connect to the new ones, the batteries will only run the fridge/lights bit of tv whilst moored up. I am asking the question as for the last 18months with the charger constantly on i am forever filling the water levels up every month, and have started to think why am i charging all the batteries all of the time, whilst the charger is on permanent float and i'm on 240v . As you can gather batteries are not my forte and i really hav'nt a clue what to do,i have searched the forums but cant seem to find any answer. many thanks for reading, any help appreciated.i just hope you can all understand what i'm trying to say..
  9. Bottle, many thanks for the link to topic...Been having a go this morning having deciphered all wiring .the fault i'm continuously getting is fault52(3times) and fault 54(twice),so i am now going through the fuel system/filter as advised on ESPAR. Jelunga: i bought the timer off ebay(new) for £73.in my eyes if it saves me 2 call outs i'm in the black, hopefully!! there are many sellers on ebay, mine came in 2 days from guernsey,i was also advised by another boater to buy a new one as you never know wether s/h is broke or not.... Valrene 9600: the timer iv'e purchased does indeed unlock the ecu, as i described the engineer did in my above post, the "gadget" is the timer.he really did it that simply!,sorry i hav'nt got back to you sooner.i'm afraid iv'e had to work all weekend, away in my truck, and only get to use my pc as and when im at home,as company policy dictates i cannot carry electrical items in my truck, due to nature of cargo. sorry about the delay many thanks Tim
  10. many thanks for those links. what i am trying to do is what the eberspacher guy did when he came,he just pulled the plug apart in the fusebox connected the 7 day timer with a few crocodile clips, told me that my voltage was low at some time thus making the heater(dw5sc) lock itself out,he then said he'd unlocked the unit and to fire it up...waahay it worked,£40 for 10 mins actual work .now ive got another problem with her (loads of white smoke and no ignition) so i've bought a timer as advised on reading the forums, but i just cant get my head round how to connect it up so i can read the fault,i don't want to get it wrong and blow the new timer up.im afraid im a mechanical guy not really electrical but cant really afford £40 every time it plays up,thus the timer purchase. many thanks tim
  11. Hi there i have been having problems with my eberspacher so i decided to buy a timer, now having got the timer which is new but came with no wiring instructions, could someone please tell me how to temporarily connect it into the wiring so i can read the fault codes.i dont want to connect it permanantly. i have the fault codes which gary had posted on another post. many thanks tim
