Might be a daft question, but, I assume there is no problem replacing a Shurflo with a Jabsco water pump?

Please can I have some advice on anchors. How big should my anchor be, how much chain and warp should I have for my 40ft narrow boat.
TIA -
Can anyone explain why you can’t mix pink and blue coolant please. Thanks.

I fancy getting a small portable washing machine for the summer. Does anyone use one and if so what are your recommendations please.

I said something like that.

I would’ve thought post stretching it would immediately need a boat safety certificate and therefore insurance companies and CRT would be notified immediately?
-
That is correct. It would be measured.

How much are you looking at adding if 8ft is too much? What length is your current boat?
It is 34ft and I want to add 6ft.

Ok. So rudder tubes and all that are very interesting but I was enquiring about blacking prices. Any other offers please?
-
How much did anyone pay recently?
-
Thank you for your replies. Unfortunately Kedian will only do 8ft or more. I am investigating others.

Peter. Who did it for you?

I am considering having my boat stretched. Does anyone have any recommendations in the London region who might be able to do this? Has anyone done it and regretted it?

Currently on the K&A, definitely need a longer plank. Any advice, is a scaffolding plank good enough or should I cough up 80 quid and buy a purpose made one?

Does anyone know how long you can moor for on the moorings below the locks by the bus station in Bath? There is no signage and nothing seems to be moving much.
Also, where would be the next 7 day spot?
thanks.

Good old CWDF, he didn't ask for anyone's 'Opinion'. He just wanted to know more about his glass.

Can you wise and wonderful folk tell me, for a friend, the approximate price of a boat survey.
The boat is 12' X 36'. Steel hull.
Thank you.

So. To those of you who have used it - have you had any issues with repainting?

I was given some polish for the boat today. It is called Mer. I tried it on a panel and it came up lovely and shiny. Has anyone else used it?

Left is very pretty and right takes you past some most amazing industrial plants - depends what you like the most.

Tim and I had such a wonderful evening with Tim and Liz last summer. This is very sad news.

Quite a lot of money has been spent upgrading the tow path around Watford. There is a lock cottage which always has a lovely garden. I met the owner when I went by last week who said that owing to the towpath improvement the cyclists now go by so fast that it is too dangerous to to the gardening. He clocked one at 29 miles an hour! And yes he has an accurate method of testing the speeds. He also said boaters no longer moor up there for the evenings as the path is so wide they don't have space for chairs etc. and risk being run over!

All open now.

Was planning to move the boat towards Denham this evening but the canal at Halfpenny Bridge in Paddington is shut whilst the police investigate a body found in canal

Money tree or proper name:
Crassula portulaceaeven I can keep these alive. I rarely water them, and they can live inside, or outside in warm weather. You simply can't go wrong. My plant got frozen solid once and I chucked it in the shed assuming it was dead. Sometime later it picked up again and is still going many years on. I agree re. spider plants too.
And you can grow a whole new crassula plant from a single leaf - how neat is that!
New covers

Advice and information would be greatly appreciated on this topic please. My trusty covers have come to the end of their life and I am looking for new ones. I had thought my mind was made up until a conversation this weekend and now I’ve changed my mind! I don’t want canvas ones because although they look wonderful when new they seem to age very poorly. I’ve seen a lot of mouldy ones! My old ones were a sort of thick PVC and lasted for about 25years so ideally I’d like to do the same again. Any recommendations? I’m based in London but could take a trip if needed. I also think id like a cratch but my gas locker in in the front - how do people manage this with a cratch board? A folding one?
I eagerly await peoples thoughts.
Thank you
