  1. Advice and information would be greatly appreciated on this topic please. My trusty covers have come to the end of their life and I am looking for new ones. I had thought my mind was made up until a conversation this weekend and now I’ve changed my mind! I don’t want canvas ones because although they look wonderful when new they seem to age very poorly. I’ve seen a lot of mouldy ones! My old ones were a sort of thick PVC and lasted for about 25years so ideally I’d like to do the same again. Any recommendations? I’m based in London but could take a trip if needed. I also think id like a cratch but my gas locker in in the front - how do people manage this with a cratch board? A folding one?

    I eagerly await peoples thoughts.

    Thank you

    That is an outrageous suggestion.

I would’ve thought post stretching it would immediately need a boat safety certificate  and therefore insurance companies and CRT would be notified immediately?

  3. Quite a lot of money has been spent upgrading the tow path around Watford. There is a lock cottage which always has a lovely garden. I met the owner when I went by last week who said that owing to the towpath improvement the cyclists now go by so fast that it is too dangerous to to the gardening. He clocked one at 29 miles an hour! And yes he has an accurate method of testing the speeds. He also said boaters no longer moor up there for the evenings as the path is so wide they don't have space for chairs etc. and risk being run over!

  4. Money tree or proper name:

    Crassula portulacea

even I can keep these alive. I rarely water them, and they can live inside, or outside in warm weather. You simply can't go wrong. My plant got frozen solid once and I chucked it in the shed assuming it was dead. Sometime later it picked up again and is still going many years on. I agree re. spider plants too.

And you can grow a whole new crassula plant from a single leaf - how neat is that!
