  1. We secured a mooring in Kings Orchard Marina, got here last week. It's great here, nice people, very friendly management team. Thanks to everyone who posted here.
  2. Hi guys, we are looking into moving our boat soon, one of the options is to try to get a mooring in one of the marinas near Fradley. Does anybody know if it's possible to get a residential or at least "extended leasure" mooring around there?
  3. It's in a small, non-ventilated cupboard, but the boat was really cold, especially at the stern end, so not sure about overheating. As far as I know, it was all-right without the dehumidifier on. Thank you all for the responses. Currently not on the boat, so can't do anything about it apart from reading and learning. Noticed that some people started arguing with each other, that was not my intention, so please stop (or don't, if you like to argue...).
  4. I looked at the electricity meter on the boat connection in the afternoon and next morning and there was a difference of £0.27, so it looked like it was connected.
  5. Thanks Tracy. I already started on it. Reading manual right now.
  6. I made an edit to my original post, so you could miss it, but all that was happening on a shore connection.
  7. Hello again, lovely people on this forum. We spent first night on the boat after purchasing it. We replaced the chimney, fired the stove and and turned on a dehumidifier (1500W). While we were using the lights and occasionally used the water pump, we noticed that all the electricity was going down for a couple of seconds, up to half a minute at times. The inverter light was going from yellow to red, then back to yellow. The boat was connected to a marina 220V mains. Is the inverter failing or is it just to small for usage?. It is a Victron Energy Multiplus Compact 12 1600 70-16. I have to admit that I know very little about electrics. Is there any easy to understand article or a website on the web?
  8. That's right. But we are prepared for it and for some other issues, which we identified during the viewing and others which we expected to be found by the surveyor. We are realistic.
  9. Thanks for all the responses. We got the asking price reduced, so we can replace the boiler if necessary.
  10. Hi, we are in the process of buying a narrowboat. We got the survey done, amongst others, there is an issue which worries us a bit. The Eberspacher boiler did not power up during the survey. Is there a good chance that there is only a faulty part which needs fixing, or we will have to replace the whole unit? We are thinking to ask the sellers to reduce the asking price by £1.500.
